The N.T.U.A club was established by kyoshi Polychronopoulos in 1988 and since then, it has become of the most noted university karate clubs. The main factors that contributed to the success of the N.T.U.A. club were: Kyoshi's experience with the Univeristy of Michigan Karate club as head instructor from 1977 until 1983, his personal academic level of education at the same University in the fields of Aerospace Engineering and Biomechanics, and the invaluable support of Mr. Dionysios Markatis, N.T.U.A.'s Head of Athletics.

Today, under the supervision of Mr. MIchalis Kiritsis (president of EATE), the Suibukan club is the first karate club to operate at the N.T.U.A's new gym in the Zografos area.

Many competent Suibukan instructors have evolved from this very club, such as shihan Panagiotis Velissariou, 5th dan, founder of the Toumba Dojo in Thessaloniki.

kyoshi Polychronopoulos

Kyoshi Babis Polychronopoulos is one of the most noted trainees of hanshi Tadashi Yamashita. He holds the rank of 8th dan in Kobayashi Shorin Ryu Karate do and a 7th dan in Matayoshi Kobudo. Having been practicing martial arts for more than 40 years, in Greece as well as in the U.S.A., he has established himself as one of the most integrated trainers/masters worldwide.

In Greece, he is the founder of the Suibukan Martial Arts Organization and has inspired thousands of students to delve into the martial arts, quite differently from what one would experience in the contemporary martial arts world today.

Faithfully following in the steps of his teacher, master Tadashi Yamashita, kyoshi Polychronopoulos has established his training and teaching on transparent principles, not on fancy passing impressions. He continues to study and experience the “do”.
