Term: Salonika dojo

Summer seminar is a combination of practice at the natural enviroment and is an alternative view of martial arts as we experience them at Suibukan organization.

It's a ten years tradition to do this seminar at camping Olympios Zeus near the village of Plaka, under the mountain Olympus, in North Greece.

This year (2011) the seminar will take place September 3 & 4.

Sensei Vasilis Manolas is a student of shihan Velissariou and sempai at the A.u.Th club of Suibukan.
He has started practicing martial arts at the dojo of Thessaloniki in March, 2006. He has attended most of the seminars of hanshi Yamashita and kyoshi Polychronopoulos, in Greece. He has been a sempai at the dojo of Toumpa, Thessaloniki since 2007 and sempai at the A.u.Th club of Suibukan since 2008.

Today, he holds the 1st Dan in Kobayashi Shorin Ryu and the 2nd Kyu in Matayoshi Kobudo.

1 Dan

Sensei Elpida Tilkeridou started her apprentiship in martial arts in 2007, at the age of 22. She joined the Suibukan Organization, becoming a member of the Toumba dojo of Thessaloniki, where she still trains under the supervision of Shihan Panagiotis Velissariou. She is 1 Dan black belt in Kobayashi Shorin Ryu Karate do and 1 Dan in Matayoshi Kobudo.

2 Dan

Sensei Simos Ikonomidis, 3 dan in Kobayashi Shorin Ryu Karate Do and 2 dan in Matayoshi Kobudo, is a disciple of shihan Velissariou and sempai in Salonika dojo, Thessaloniki. He started training in martial arts in 1995, at the age of 24, with the Suibukan Club of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). Since then he has attended most of the seminars given (in Greece) by hanshi Yamashita and kyoshi Polychronopoulos. At the level of brown belt he becomes sempai in the AUTH club.

3 Dan

The Suibukan club of the Aristotle Univercity of Thessaloniki (A.U.TH.) was created in November 1994 by sensei Velissariou Panagiotis. Since its creation it continues to offer knowledge and joy to the students of A.U.TH.

Shihan Velissariou Panagiotis is a personal student of kyoshi Polychronopoulos and he has been participating in all the seminars of Hanshi Yamashita since the year 1990. He holds a 5th Dan in Kobayashi Shorin Ryu Karate do and a 3rd Dan in Matayoshi Kobudo. He has a 20 year long experience in martial arts and he is in charge of the dojos in Thessaloniki and the chief trainer in the dojo of Toumba.

Salonika dojo was founded in the Autumn of 1998 following a successful four year operation of the Suibukan Club of The Aristotle Univercity of Thessaloniki (A.U.TH.), which at that time had already fourty members.

Only a few months before, headquartered at Thessaloniki, the PANTHESSALONIKIAN HELLENIC SUIBUKAN CLUB had been founded.
