Sensei Chris Dimopoulos is a personal student of kyoshi Polichronopoulos. Holder of 3 dan in Kobayashi Shorin Ryu Karate do and 2 dan in Matayoshi Kobudo. With more than 15 years experience in martial arts he is the head instructor of the Suibukan club of the Xatzivei School. Training continuously taking part regularly in seminars of kyoshi Polichronopoulos as well as with master Yamashita.
Born in Pireaus in 1976, and after staying in several cities in Greece and in London, he is now staying in Anixi, Athens, with his wife and two children.
His involvement with the martial arts began in 1995, during his graduate studies in the Physics Department of the University of Patras. There he participated in the club that was established by sensei Agathi Sarandi and soon discovered the interesting combination of the mechanics of body movement with the simultaneous use of the will and mind as a major component of the educational surroundings.
His training continued in Hombu dojo in Athens under personal surveillance of kyoshi Polichronopoulos until today. Since 2008 he is the instructor of Xatzivei club.
Sensei Chris Dimopoulos apart from martial arts is a graduate of the Physics Department of the University of Patras and holds a MSc in Calculational Astrophysics of University of London. He has worked since student as professor of Physics, Mathematics, Computer and Astrophysics until today. He has also worked freelancing for several years with Consulting Companies.
Married to Meropi Chatzivei, who is a graduate of the Education Department of the University of Krete with a Master’s Degree in Computers in Education of the University of London. She is working as a director of education in a private school.
Chris and Meropi are parents to two children, Melina and Elpida.
